Sparking Conversations, Igniting Action, Building a Healthier Future Together
The Greater Texas Gulf Coast Engage Me Series (GTX-GEMS) is a monthly event (September-May) held at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) on the Galveston Campus and hosted by the UTMB Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice. The goal of GTX-GEMS is to offer a venue for open discussion on health topics that are pertinent to the well-being of the greater Gulf Coast region. As the region's leading educator of healthcare providers, UTMB is one part of the equation with the capacity to lead the region towards a healthier future by fostering interprofessional community engagement and partnerships that benefit the health of the entire region.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education, The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. As a Jointly Accredited Organization, The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE), The University of Texas Medical Branch is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards have the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit
Credits
The Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education, The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, 1.5 nursing contact hours & 1.5 SW Ethics hours. Attendees should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
