Welcome Angel

Angel is a first year Experimental Pathology PhD student at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. While earning her bachelors, she worked at Promega Corporation for three years as a lab technician and eventually an intern synthesizing RNA and DNA dyes. At school, she also worked in a variety of microbiology labs with focuses ranging from antibiotic resistance to algae biofuels. Coming from a background of bacteriology and organic chemistry, she wants to broaden her horizons and gain experience in virology and epidemiology. UTMB’s One Health department offers great opportunities to experience both! Welcome, Angel!
