Dena Bannan

Dena Bannan began her career at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1998 as an Administrative Assistant and Trainer in the Health Education Department (UTMB Healthcare Systems, Inc.).  After a brief separation, Dena returned to UTMB in the Office of the Provost in 2010 and has served in several roles within the department since her return.  Some of the tasks performed during her years of service include the coordination of special projects, monthly account reconciliation, on-boarding new employees, and creating/publishing monthly announcements.  Dena enjoys sharing her experiential knowledge with co-workers and new team members to help promote professional success.  As an Executive Assistant, Dena supports the Senior Vice President and Chief Physician Executive of the Faculty Group Practice, as well as the Associate Vice President, Clinical Business and Value Attainment. 

Prior to joining UTMB, Dena spent eight years at DePelchin Children’s Center in Houston, TX, where she worked as an Application Analyst and Trainer.  Some of her favorite memories at DePelchin were coordinating and assisting with community events promoting the importance of foster care and adoption.   

Dena is a native Houstonian and has been married to her husband Raymond, a USMC combat veteran, since 1991.  Together, they enjoy attending concerts, birdwatching, getting together with friends and family and spending summers relaxing on the Guadalupe River.  Fun fact, Dena has visited 25 states within the Continental US.
