John Rodriguez

John Rodriguez joined the Provost’s Office in July 2023. As manager of financial operations for the Academic Enterprise, he aids in monthly close reporting, budgeting, hospital contract management, clinical mission analysis and proformas. John’s dedication to reporting and analysis is derived from his immense respect for the healthcare sector and a deep appreciation for the significant impact financials and statistics have on decision-making. 

Before joining the Provost’s Office in 2023, John worked for 10 years for various healthcare organizations, including CentroMed, Christus Health and UT Health Science Center San Antonio. 

After completing his education in accounting, John embarked on his career by joining a prominent Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC). There, he gained valuable insights into the financial intricacies of the healthcare delivery space. His exceptional analytical skills and ability to quickly identify cost-saving opportunities in the ever-changing and complex healthcare landscape earned him recognition among his peers. 

When he’s not developing reports, you can find him at the nearest bookstore or coffee shop reading about market trends, medical or tech breakthroughs, or healthy cooking recipes.
