Toya Stewart, MM

Faculty Recruitment Specialist

Toya Stewart joined UTMB in 1992 and has contributed her services to several departments across the university over the years. Her previous services include Cardiology (Cath Lab), Surgery, the Dean’s Office, the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Office, and the Human Resources Office. This has provided her with a wide range of understanding the various aspects and the importance of coordination of surgeries to the APT process, tenure review and the recruitment of faculty.

Toya has spent 13 years in Faculty Relations in the Provost’s Office. She has been involved in many projects at UTMB, including the PeopleSoft HR implementation; opening new hospitals in Angleton, Clear Lake and League City; assisting with the GME Austin resident program; annual GME onboarding residents; postdoctoral laddering; and TALEO implementation.

Toya holds a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in management with a minor in human resources management from the University of Phoenix.

Toya is a BOI; when she is not working, Toya can be found enjoying family time, playing games, reading or family vacations.
