13th Annual Meeting 2022
The Rehabilitation Research Career Development (RRCD) program's 13th Annual meeting was held May 16-17, 2022, in Galveston, TX, hosted by the University of Texas Medical Branch.
The purpose of the annual meeting is to seek feedback from the advisory board regarding our program’s activities and progress and engage scholars in an interactive discussion on topics important to their research and career advancement. A priority for this year’s meeting was to identify future activities and opportunities after the K12 grant ends to continue engaging current and former scholars to ensure they are successful in developing an independent research program.
Activities included a program update by the director/co-directors/associate directors, presentations from our current Phase 1 & 2 scholars, mentoring/discussion opportunities in breakout sessions, and an update from the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research (NCMRR) given by Dr. John Chae (former NCMRR board member) on behalf of Dr. Ralph Nitkin (NCMRR Deputy Director).
