The 15th International Conference on Aging in the Americas (ICAA) Cognitive Aging in Mexico and Latino Communities in the United States: Deconstructing Resilience was held September 14 – 16, 2022. It was the next iteration in the ICAA series, focusing on aging and health in the Americas. The conference was hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, in partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Colorado-Boulder, University of Texas-Austin, and El Colegio de la Frontera Norte in Mexico. The 2022 ICAA planning team included Flavia Andrade, Fernando Riosmena, Martha Daviglus, and Silvia Mejia.
The Sealy Center on Aging is proud to announce poster winners:
- Postdoctoral trainee Jose Cabrero-Castro earned first prize for his work, “Cognitive Life Expectancy by Educational Attainment in Mexican Adults aged 60 and Older”
- T32 Health of Older Minorities Pre-doctoral trainee Mariella Gutierrez received 2nd price for her poster with Dr. Li, “Assigning Lifetime Occupation Domains for Older Mexicans: MHAS-O*NET Linkage Protocol”
