This page provides step-by-step guidance on navigating the EMS SIMIQ simulation recording and software system, including accessing recordings, and managing and reviewing learner performance.

Using your UTMB username and password, log into the UTMB SimIQ site using the Single-Sign-On (SSO) option at https://hec.simulationiq.com

*Best practice is to log-in to SIMIQ using the UTMB Virtual Private Network (VPN). In order to access videos you must use the VPN.

Go to My Items and select video.

Step 1: Log-in to SimIQ, the Single-sign-on (SSO) option, using your UTMB username and password,  https://hec.simulationiq.com

Step 2: Once logged in, you will see your SimIQ Dashboard:

Step 3: Verify your name. If your name is not correct, ask the course representative for assistance. Do not go any further in the SimIQ system until after your patient encounter.

Step 4: When the announcements are made, you will review the door sign (patient information), enter the exam room, and complete the patient encounter. 

Step 5:  When you exit the exam room, locate your To-Do List in the middle of your SimIQ dashboard.

Step 6: Your To-Do List will display your Post-Encounter Activity.

Step 7: If your To-Do List does not show a Post-Encounter Activity, Click "REFRESH" on the top right corner of you To-Do List.

Step 8: To begin your Post-Encounter click "Start"

Step 9: Complete your post-encounter assignment and review the Quick Access section to verify you have answered all items. * Note: your exam may have a different number of responses.

Step 10: Once your assignment is complete, click Save & Submit:

Step 11: Confirm that your checklist was submitted by clicking, "OK".

Step 12: You will return to your Dashboard.

Step 13: When prompted by the announcement to "Sign-out" of your station, click you name in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 14: Then click "Sign-out" on the drop-down window.

After signing-out the overhead announcements will guide you on how to proceed.

• Each video feed available can be found in the boxes above the video.
• You can choose to view one video feed or multiple feeds at a time.

• Go to Message , here you will find the simulation activity you have been assigned to.
• All surveys, assessments, or evaluations you are assigned are under the To-Do List.

• Click on the "Bookmark" tab to the right of the video.

• Click on the Icon of Choice from the Bookmark/Annotations Menu

• Click on your Name int he Upper Righthand Corner. From the Drop-down Menu, Select Sign-out.
