"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."
UTMB is committed to maintaining an environment that is safe and that supports equity in educational and professional pursuits. Sexual harassment, sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and retaliation subvert the mission of UTMB. The Title IX Office works to ensure all university members have a safe place free from discrimination in which to learn and serve. Any person (student, faculty or staff) who believes that discriminatory practices have been engaged in based upon gender may discuss their concerns and file informal or formal complaints of possible violations of Title IX with the UTMB Title IX Coordinator.
For gender discrimination, sexual harassment, relationship violence, or retaliation, contact the Title IX Coordinator 409-772-2112, or go to Rebecca Sealy 2.302.
Options for sexual assault:
The University of Texas Medical Branch, in compliance with applicable federal laws and regulations, strives to maintain an environment free from discrimination against individuals on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, or veteran status. This includes, but is not limited to admissions; employment; financial aid, health care services; educational services; and access to UTMB programs, facilities or services. This applies to all employees and students, and anyone who utilizes UTMB facilities.
