The Galveston Healing Arts Orchestra recently had its first concert at Levin Hall. The recently-formed symphony orchestra brings together players and music lovers who are also UTMB employees, faculty, and staff. The orchestra, conducted by Galveston Symphony
Orchestra maestro Trond Saeverud, includes players from surgery, students from the John Sealy School of Medicine, and even the UTMB Dean of the School of Medicine & Provost Dr. Charles Mouton on bassoon and saxophone. For their first performance,
the orchestra played works by Beethoven and Bizet:
