UTMB General Surgery faculty and residents attend the ACS Clinical Congress. American College of Surgeons (ACS) Clinical Congress 2023 is one of the largest international meetings of surgeons globally. The event convened from October 22-25 in Boston, Massachusetts, and was conducted as a hybrid event, allowing participants to engage either onsite or virtually.

Clinical Congress offers a platform to present groundbreaking surgical research, interact with experienced surgeons, and stay informed about the latest advancements in the field. The Scientific Forum sessions comprise a multitude of research-in-progress reports, providing insights into ongoing clinical trials.

Clinical Congress was an instrumental experience this year. Attending the Health Outreach Program for Equality in Global Surgery (H.O.P.E) and Operation Giving Back (OGB) conference introduced me to pioneers in the field of global surgery and gave me guidance for research projects and clinical outreach ideas. The rest of the conference was very educational as well with lectures on state-of-the-art surgical advances!”
