Dr. Shokrzadeh’s course was on “Percutaneous Thrombectomy of Acute Iliofemoral DVT Complicated by Subsequent Massive Pulmonary Embolism.” Dr. Cox’s course covered “Recurrent Filter-related Iliocaval Thrombosis.”

Dr. Cox co-authored a poster presentation titled “Perioperative and Long-term Outcomes of Patients with Pulmonary Embolism Undergoing Catheter-directed Thrombolysis versus Percutaneous Mechanical Thrombectomy.” Also, Dr. Shokrzadeh and Dr. Cox. gave mock oral exams for the senior vascular surgery trainees.

This year’s conference had a western theme. Dr. Cox won the award for best western attire at the meeting, and Dr. Shokrzadeh was inducted as a new member of the SAVS.

A message from Dr. Cox:

"The SAVS is an important meeting for vascular surgery and we were excited that UTMB had great representation with multiple talks.  Dr. Tsukagoshi did a very nice job with his plenary session talk, which generated a lot of positive comments."
