Dr. Tamer Dafashy, PGY 5, Urology, was recently named a 2021-2022 UTMB Health Outstanding Overall Resident! This significant honor is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and commitment to exemplary professionalism, patient care, education, and scholarly
activity.
The Outstanding Overall Resident award is given to the overall best-performing resident of the year among an entire cohort of trainees within the UTMB John Sealy School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education Programs. Dr. Dafashy is the first Urology
resident to receive this prestigious award. For consideration, program directors nominate one resident based on the resident's performance in education, research, leadership, community involvement, and patient care. The applications are reviewed and
scored by the GMEC Well-Being Subcommittee.
