UTMB Oral and Maxillofacial Services (OMFS) Division Chief Hisham Marwan, DDS, FACS has been presenting and speaking at multiple conferences around the country.

In September, Dr. Marwan presented the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery group study results “Outcomes After Expansion Pharyngoplasty in Treating Patients with Moderate to Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea” at the 2022 International Surgical Sleep Society Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. The ISSS, one of the world’s most distinguished organizations focused on surgical evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, hosts meetings that allow surgeons from around the globe to discuss their research findings and new advances in sleep surgery.

The following week, Dr. Marwan conducted three talks at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Annual Meeting in New Orleans:

  • “Contemporary Management of Odontogenic Cysts and Tumors,”
  • “What Do You Need to Know About Osteomyelitis of the Jaws?”
  • “Panfacial Fractures: New Solutions to an Old Problem”

The annual meeting, open to more than 9,000 surgeons and residents across the country, focused on the education, research, and advocacy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Marwan also presented “Management of Panfacial Fracture” at the Texas Medical Center Maxillofacial Trauma Conference, an annual conference for residents from all specialties including OMFS, ENT, and Plastic Surgery.

Thank you for your leadership, Dr. Marwan!
