Dr. Laxmi Dongur, along with Dr. Michael Kueht, won first place for their oral presentation at the Texas Transplantation Society.
The title of the research is “Impact of Years of Dialysis and Diabetes on Inflammatory Gene Expression in Renal Transplant Recipients with Delayed Graft Function.”
A message from Dr. Dongur:
“Our study focused on understanding the implications of Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Renal Transplant Recipients in terms of delayed graft functioning. We, ultimately, hope to find early serum markers of Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in at-risk patients to improve graft and patient survival."
