Overtime for 8/80 Employees

Biweekly Overtime occurs when hours are worked over 80 in a two week period excluding the hours worked over 8 in a day. Hours recorded over 80 in two weeks, excluding the hours worked over 8 in a day, due to leave time taken are paid at the regular rate of pay for the hours equal to leave time recorded.

In this example, the employee would earn daily overtime of 2 hours on Monday of week 1 regardless of the leave time taken during the two week period.

Less regular scheduled hours -80
Net hours 16
Less leave time taken  -8
Bi-weekly overtime hours 8
Plus daily overtime  +2
Total overtime 10
