2024 Call for Pilot Project Proposals

The UTMB Data Management and Analysis Core (DMAC) for Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) on Cancer in Texas, funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, invites Texas academic and research investigators to submit pilot grant proposals focused on cancer comparative effectiveness research. Proposals covering screening, diagnosis, treatment, post-treatment surveillance, or survivorship are encouraged. Funding will be provided for one year, up to $20,000 in direct costs.

The pilot grant aims to train new CER investigators, enabling them to disseminate study findings and apply for future funding. Awardees will receive access to data and analytical support from the DMAC.

Instructions:

  1. Contact Monica Cline at mjcline@utmb.edu to register for informational sessions at noon on June 3rd or 7th, 2024.
  2. Interested investigators should write a brief letter of intent describing in one page or less their research idea, timeline of quarterly progress reports, and how this idea would lead to future funding in the area of CER on cancer. LOI and Biosketch or CV should be submitted to Monica Cline at mjcline@utmb.edu by 06/21/2024. The LOI will be evaluated by the DMAC Administrative Council and those who are selected will be asked to prepare a presentation.
