iOS BYOD enrollment transcript

In this video, we will walk through the steps of enrolling your Apple device in UTMB's BYOD program.

  1. First, open the Settings app.
  2. Next tap General and scroll down to tap on VPN and Device management.
  3. Now tap on Sign in to work or school account.
  4. Type in your UTMB email address into the text field.
  5. Continue authenticating your UTMB account by entering your password and accepting the Duo prompt.
  6. Tap Yes, this is my device.
  7. As a reminder, you should not be enrolling devices that are not yours in BYOD.
  8. Tap Sign in to iCloud.
  9. Tap Continue.
  10. Once again, enter your UTMB password.
  11. Accept the Duo prompt.
  12. Tap Yes, this is my device.
  13. Check Don't show this again and tap Yes.
  14. Tap Allow remote management and type in your device's PIN number.

Now that we've completed the first portion of the enrollment process, we will need to wait for three apps to be installed on the device. The three apps that will be received are Microsoft Authenticator, Microsoft Teams, and a web link to the UTMB company portal. The install time for these apps can be instantaneous, but can sometimes take 30 minutes or longer.

You will receive a prompt asking for permission to install Microsoft Teams on your device.

  1. Tap Install.
  2. You will need to wait until the icon indicates the application is completely loaded.
  3. Once teams has finished installing:
  4. Tap on the Teams icon.
  5. Type in your UTMB email address and tap Next.
  6. Type in your UTMB password and tap Sign in.
  7. Accept the Duo prompt.
  8. Tap Yes, this is my device.
  9. If you would like to receive notifications when you are messaged in Microsoft Teams, tap Allow.
  10. If you would like to be able to make calls and attend meetings, tap Allow on the Microphone permissions prompt.
  11. You have now completed the enrollment process.
