Bio-Mohamad Khaled Soufi

  • Dr. Soufi earned his medical degree at University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine, in Aleppo, Syria in 2010. After medical school, he worked as a Cardiology Research Assistant at University of Pittsburgh/VAPHS in Pittsburgh, PA before completing his Internal Medicine residency at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH in 2016. After completing his IM residency, Dr. Soufi worked as a Clinical Associate of Medicine and a Cardiovascular Hospitalist at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA until 2018.

    In 2018, Dr. Soufi joined University of Texas Medical Branch where he completed his Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship, General Cardiology fellowship, and chief fellowship year from 2018 to 2022.

    Dr. Soufi joined our Cardiology Division at UTMB in 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. His professional interests include clinical cardiology focusing on patient-centered care, echocardiography, invasive cardiology, teaching, and clinical research. Dr. Soufi sees patients at the UTMB Clear Lake Campus clinic. He is fluent in Arabic. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, exercising, and traveling.
