National Medical Librarians Month is the ideal time to meet the librarians at UTMB. The four Reference Librarians serve as liaisons to establish close working relationships with faculty and staff to provide trustworthy and curated information to support your research, patient care, and teaching.
Meet Cam Burkins, MSLIS, MA:
Cam joined Moody Medical Library in January 2026. She earned both her Master of Science in Library Science (MSLIS) and Master of Arts in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before becoming a librarian, Cam worked as a civil engineer and has her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
Cam is here to help navigate the evolving information landscape. Her special interests include AI Literacy for Clinical Research, Continuing Education for Healthcare Practitioners, and Clinician-Librarian collaboration.
Cam proudly serves as library liaison for the following departments:
