Enrollment in Mystery Diagnosis courses is restricted to one course per student.
Case Assignment / Writeup and Presentation
Assignments of presentations will be made on the first day of the course. A total of 32 cases from the archives of Mystery Diagnosis will be viewed during the course. Each episode is approximately 20 minutes. Each student will be responsible for giving a formal PowerPoint presentation based on their assigned case. Each PowerPoint presentation will consist of approximately 15 slides. Presentations will take place by Zoom. Each presentation will last 20 minutes. An evidence-based case report or review article relevant to the case discussed should be discussed during the presentation session.
A written presentation should be turned in at the end of the rotation. The length of the paper should be at least 10 pages of double-spaced text with at least 5 journal-based references listed on the last page.
Students are required to watch all 32 cases in the archives. To enhance and maximize learning, students will be required to write a reflection on all 32 cases as follows:

- Search the Medical Literature for a Case Report that matches this case. Cite your reference.
- Please describe how the cited case report is similar to this case. (minimum 150 words)
- Summarize what you learned from this case: (minimum 250 words)
Upload your weekly summary for all 8 cases to the appropriate Blackboard Folder.
The course will meet virtually at the end of each week presentations and discussion of each case.

Students must attend weekly presentation sessions by Zoom. Presentation days may vary by block. Assignments for each weekly session will be given out on the first Monday at 9:00 AM orientation by Zoom. Each presentation must be deemed satisfactory by the facilitator. |
