HOTEL INFORMATION

We are excited to have you attend the course in-person. We have made courtesy hotel room blocks at the following hotels for your stay in Galveston. Please note: You are responsible for booking and paying for your own hotel accommodations. Please check each hotel’s website for general information, amenities, and cancellation policy before booking. Rooms at all hotels are based on availability, so we encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible. All hotel room rates are subject to state and local taxes.

Grand Galvez Hotel, Galveston, Texas

The Grand Galvez, 2024 Seawall Boulevard in Galveston, Texas, sits along the historic Seawall. This AAA 4-Diamond property is the only historic beachfront hotel on the Texas Gulf Coast and is known as the “Queen of the Gulf.”

The hotel is honoring the UTMB local negotiated discount rate of $128 per night. Rooms are based on availability until Friday, March 20, 2026, so we encourage you to make your reservation early. Room rates are subject to state and local taxes.

Valet-only parking is available for $34 per night. Metered street parking and public garage parking are available at your own risk. The hotel does not provide shuttle service to or from the UTMB campus during the course.

Hilton Galveston Island Resort
The recently renovated Hilton Galveston Island Resort, 5400 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, Texas, 77551, is along the historic Seawall steps from the Gulf of Mexico Coastline. This property is approximately 4.2 miles (12 minute drive) to the course venue at UTMB.

A limited number of rooms are available at Hilton Galveston Island Resort, located at 5400 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, Texas 77551 on the Galveston Seawall. Rooms are available at a rate of $149 per night (weekdays) and $199 per night (weekends). Room rates are subject to state and local taxes. The onsite valet parking rate is $35 per day, and self-on-site parking is $20/day.

The Holiday Inn Resort: Galveston on the Beach, 5002 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, Texas, along the historic Seawall steps from the Gulf of Mexico Coastline and an integral part of the San Luis Resort Spa & Conference Center. This property is approximately 4.0 miles (12 minute drive) to the course venue at UTMB.

A limited number of rooms are available at Hilton Galveston Island Resort at a rate of $139 per night (weekdays) and $199 per night (weekends). Room rates are subject to state and local taxes. The onsite valet parking rate is $15 per day overnight parking (in/out privileges).

TRAVEL TO AND WITHIN GALVESTON

Galveston is accessible via two airports: William H. Hobby Airport within 40 miles and George Bush Intercontinental Airport within 70 miles. Both support domestic and international travelers. Transportation from these airports to Galveston and within Galveston is best secured by commercial taxi or commercial ride services such as Uber and Lyft. Galveston Limousine operates a shuttle to Galveston from both airports.

However, as such transportation can be expensive, course attendees might instead want to rent a vehicle. A rented vehicle will also support their visits to Galveston sites outside of Moody Gardens. For instance, course visitors may want to plan a short trip to enjoy the beach or to visit Galveston’s downtown area, many restaurants, or other tourist sites:
