A Message from the VP and Executive Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs
Dear colleagues,
Please join me in extending congratulations to our leaders and staff in the Health Education Center (HEC), on the achievement of full accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). This accreditation is considered the gold standard in health care simulation, signifying our institution’s excellence in this increasingly critical component of health education.
We are also very proud that UTMB is the first institution in the University of Texas System to achieve this distinguished level of accreditation, joining the top 10 percent of simulation centers in the U.S. that have met the SSH’s rigorous standards in the areas of Core, Teaching/Education, and Assessment.
Special recognition goes to Dr. Katie Branch, Vice President of Interprofessional Education and the Health Education Center, and Dr. Erin McGoff, Assistant Vice President of the Health Education Center and Simulation. Their expertise and commitment to excellence in this realm have been central to this achievement. Please help me congratulate them on their outstanding work!
Sincerely,
Susan Chubinskaya, PhD
