Motorists traveling on I-45 and in the vicinity of the League City Campus this weekend may expect delays, as  work on the overpass at Hwy 96/League City Parkway will close all but one lane. 

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, construction crews will close the northbound side of Interstate 45 down to one lane beginning Thursday night, Jan. 18, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Friday morning. Then, three northbound lanes will close again at 9 p.m. Friday evening, and be continuously closed until 5 a.m. Monday morning, Jan. 22. 

The TxDOT website also shows a closure for three southbound lanes during the same period.  The work will allow crews to make pavement repairs to the Hwy 96 overpass, which is where the closures will be focused. 

The work is in the immediate vicinity of the League City Campus, and will likely impact mobility in the region, including on adjacent feeder roads. Remember the League City Campus can be accessed from W. Walker Street, which may be less congested.
