About Me

He received his medical degree with honors from Annamalai University in India and completed advanced training in Radiation Oncology across New Zealand, and Australia, after completing residencies in Surgery (India) and Internal Medicine and specialties (New Zealand). He then completed a clinical fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center while earning a Teaching Scholar Certification in Medical Education & Biomedical Informatics from the University of Washington. Dr. Parvathaneni held academic and clinical leadership roles at the University of Washington for over 18 years, including Professor of Radiation Oncology and Director of Head and Neck program and Director of Heavy Ion (Neutron) treatment facility.

Research

Dr. Parvathenani is an inter-national leader in heave ion radiation therapy with a focus on proton and neutron treatments with numerous publications and mentoring projects. He is one of the handful of radiation oncologists in the world who has the technical and clinical expertise in using neutron- based radiation treatments. He was instrumental and one of the pioneers in developing “Intensity Modulated Neutron Therapy” during his tenure at University of Washington.
