AmeriCorps Seniors Formerly RSVP Program of Galveston County

Americorps Seniors are volunteers over the age of 55 who engage in a variety of activities throughout Galveston County non-profit agencies. This program has been supported by UTMB’s Sealy Center on Aging for over 20 years.

Researchers in Galveston studying physical function, strength, and recovery from illness are recruiting adult subjects for their studies.

Caregiver and Patient Support Study (CAPSS) Seeks Volunteers

A new research study, the Caregiver and Patient Support Study (CAPSS) led by Monique R. Pappadis, MEd, PhD, FACRM, and colleagues is seeking volunteers in the community as well as among healthcare providers.

Are you a caregiver of, or someone diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease and related Dementia? Participate in an interview to create a screening tool to help protect older adults and improve referral for services. Interested? We are also seeking volunteers who:

  • Are a UTMB healthcare provider (social worker, nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician) in a primary care setting
