Welcome
Stories of Aging is a student-led oral history and portrait series supported by the Sealy Center on Aging at UTMB Health.
Launched in the fall of 2025 by medical student Arati Bendapudi with the support of researchers and staff at SCOA, the series seeks to share the lived experiences of older adults in Galveston. With inspiration drawn from Brandon Stanton's Humans of New York and oral history projects, this student-led initiative builds on SCOA’s historic Faces of Aging photography series by Marilyn Brodwick and Community Connection newsletter initiative.
