17th Annual Abundant Living Conference: “Swing Into Spring”
March 2 – 4, 2020
Camp Allen, Navasota, TX

One hundred seniors from across Texas came together in the piney woods of Camp Allen to celebrate aging abundantly through fellowship, learning, being in nature, fishing, music, yoga and much more. Several faculty from UTMB gave presentations to senior attendees:

  • Dr. Jim Goodwin – “A Geriatrician’s Approach to Medical Care ( and a coronavirus overview)
  • Dr. Mukaila Raji – “Health and Happiness Late in Life”
  • Dr. Elena Volpi – “Dancing to Health”

Alice Williams and Stephanie Burt coordinated speakers and logistics with the help of the staff from Camp Allen and their president, George Dehan. Sue Minello brought Helen Appelberg, the founder of the Abundant Living conference, to spend time with her friends. A great time was had by all.
