Dr. Deer Leads Research Arm of Post-COVID Recovery Clinic at UTMB

Rachel Deer, PhD is leading the research arm of a new Post-COVID Recovery Clinic at UTMB. Dr. Deer is Principal Investigator of a new study, “Post-COVID Recovery Clinic: Study on long-term health and well-being.” Recovery from COVID-19 is posing a new set of challenges for patients and physicians alike. The Post-COVID Rehabilitation Clinic has a multidisciplinary team from a broad range of specialties to address the issues of COVID-19 aftercare. Clinic patients are given the opportunity to participate in an observational COVID-19 study. Participation is voluntary, and patients don’t have to register to get care at the clinic. The study collects data to help us understand the effects of COVID-19 on long-term health and well-being.

Dr. Deer is a current scholar in the UTMB Pepper Center.

Patients discharged from UTMB after COVID are referred to the clinic, doctors may refer their patients, and patients may refer themselves. Make an appointment by calling (832) 632-6666 or visit https://www.utmbhealth.com/post-covid-19-clinic for more information.
