Presented by Diego Urrunaga-Pastor, MD, Visiting Scholar
Diego Urrunaga-Pastor is a medical doctor from Peru and a WHO/PAHO Research Scholar at the Sealy Center on Aging, University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), as well as Research Faculty at Universidad Científica del Sur (Peru). His research focuses on aging at high altitude, health disparities, and geriatric syndromes in Hispanic populations. His current work examines the depressed-frail phenotype and its association with mortality using the Hispanic EPESE (H-EPESE), and he is also preparing a narrative review on the Healthy Immigrant Effect in aging, synthesizing evidence from the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe.
