On October 17, faculty, staff, students, and supporters from the Sealy Center on Aging joined the Galveston Walk to End Alzheimer's, the world's largest event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research.

This year's Galveston walk was a tremendous success, raising more than $180,000 and reaching its overall fundraising goal. The SCOA team contributed more than $3,000 toward that effort, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to improving the lives of older adults and advancing Alzheimer's disease research.

There is still time to support the cause. Donations will continue to be accepted through the end of the year, and the SCOA team is working toward its fundraising goal of $5,000. Every contribution helps advance research, provide support services for families, and increase awareness of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

We extend a special thank you to Alice Williams, who founded the Galveston Walk to End Alzheimer's and has participated in the event for more than 20 years. Her leadership, dedication, and advocacy have helped make the walk a meaningful tradition in the Galveston community and a powerful force in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

Together, we can continue making a difference. Help us reach our team goal by making a donation before the end of the year and supporting the mission to end Alzheimer's.
