Dec 9, 2025, 09:10 AM by SCOA

The Sealy Center on Aging is proud to announce that Program Manager Lexi King, MS was selected last fall as a recipient of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) Region V Quinten S. Mathews Travel Award, a competitive regional honor that supports the professional growth of emerging research administrators.

The Quinten S. Mathews Award was established in 1983 to recognize the legacy of Quinten S. Mathews, a founding member of NCURA Region V and former Vice President for Research at The University of Texas at Arlington. The award continues to uphold his commitment to strengthening research administration across the region.

Each year, the Region V Travel Awards Committee selects individuals who demonstrate both a strong need for support and clear potential benefit to their home institution and NCURA Region V. Awardees receive complimentary registration and up to $2,000 in reimbursable travel expenses to attend the Region V Fall Meeting.

Lexi attended the 2025 NCURA Region V Fall Meeting in San Marcos, Texas, where she participated in workshops, networked with colleagues across the region, and expanded her expertise in research administration. Her selection reflects her dedication to strengthening research support services within our center and across UTMB.

Please join us in congratulating Lexi on this well-deserved recognition!
