Awards & Grants

Trainees presenting their work at symposium may apply for grant funds to defray travel cost. These funds are provided to facilitate accessibility and diversity at the "Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases for Clinicians and Translational Scientists" symposium in Galveston, Texas.

Provision of up to 10 travel awards (airfare, ground transportation, and lodging) for attendees who are competitively selected based on their submitted abstract and description of how the symposium will benefit their professional development and career goals.

Poster Session and Oral Presentation Awards: Awards will be given to the highest scoring poster presentations and to the highest scoring individuals who are selected to give an oral presentation.

October 2023 – Call for abstracts opens
March 10th – Deadline for Abstract submissions and Travel Award applications 
March 15th – Notification of Abstract acceptance and Travel Award winners

March 26th – Electronic Submission of Posters
April 12th – Presentation at symposium
