My research focuses on lower extremity complications of diabetes, including ulceration, amputation, and infectious diseases such as osteomyelitis. I work closely with clinical collaborators in studying the epidemiology of, risk factors for, and treatment of these diseases. By understanding these aspects of the disease process, we can design better interventions to cure the disease or alleviate its symptoms, and, better yet, develop more successful preventive measures. My work encompasses small trials, secondary data analysis, and retrospective review of patient data. As a member of the Office of Biostatistics within PMPH, I am offered the opportunity to work with investigators in a broad array of research areas. This includes colleagues in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, Microbiology, and Trauma, among others.
