Check List of things to do prior to enrollment:

    Set up your UTMB email account (refer to the emails received from Enrollment Services.)

    All entering students must have undergone a security background check, drug screen and submit required proof of immunizations. (Click to download list of Immunizations Requirements.) Within 30-60 days of the beginning of your start term, students will receive a CasteBranch eVite at their UTMB student email providing a link to CastleBranch, the company responsible for background screening and for UTMB students. You will receive two separate emails from CastleBranch sometime in July. One will be for you to complete the drug screen and the other will be for you to complete the background check. Once these have been completed, your badge can be ordered.

    Secure mandated health insurance coverage and submit proof (See Student Health Insurance on the Student Accounts webpage.)

    Check your UTMB email account regularly for official school communications. The staff in your department have been instructed to only use your UTMB email to communicate with you and not personal email accounts. Your account will be disabled due to inactivity if you fail to login for ninety days.

  • Alumni Field House

    The Alumni Field House features a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities, including tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, indoor basketball and volleyball and racquetball courts. They also have Cybex and Paramount weight-training equipment, a free-weight room, aerobics room, a variety of cardio equipment including step mills, arc trainers, treadmills and bikes. The Alumni Field House also has separate steam rooms, a Jacuzzi, an outdoor track, and a Jr.-Olympic-size swimming pool which is heated in the winter and chilled in the summer.

    All students have membership through their activity fees. Student families can join for a fee of $273 per school year. Alumni and their family are eligible to join at the employee rate

  • Annual Online Training

    All UTMB students are required to complete training courses annually. If students do not complete their mandatory compliance learning plan, a hold will be placed on their account.

    Blackboard is an online teaching and learning content management system that many instructors use with their classes.  Students will be automatically enrolled in Blackboard once registered. 

    • Login information for Blackboard is your UTMB username and password.
    • Blackboard does not required VPN for off-campus access

    UTMB’s MyVPN web page allows you to access campus applications and network services protected behind the UTMB firewall.  Students can connect to the UTMB network using the Virtual Private Network (VPN). UTMB uses a third-party client called Pulse Secure to connect your device to the VPN, and adds an additional layer of security by requiring the use of Duo Security a two-factor authentication process.  Duo Security can be downloaded as an app on your phone.

    Housed in a modern, five-story building at the heart of UTMB campus, the Moody Medical Library is the oldest medical library in Texas and one of the largest medical research libraries in the Southwest. Collections include 248,138 print volumes; 2,782 current serial subscriptions; and 130,008 monograph volumes.

    Course registration is required for each term (3 times a year).  You will register for courses via myStar, but before registration can happen, all official admission documents, health forms and other required forms must be on file with Enrollment Services.

    Registration for each term starts:

    • August 1st for Fall
    • December 1st for Spring
    • April 1st for Summer

    Registering for courses is possible provided there are no service indicators (i.e., holds) on your student record.  The Program Manager will register you for your first semester in the program, however it is the student’s responsibility to make sure their schedules are accurate.
