Congratulations on your admission to the University of Texas Medical Branch! Every part of our campus community—the faculty, the staff, and your fellow students— is looking forward to welcoming you to campus. Use the tabs below for more information about your New Student Orientation.

Orientation

New Student Orientation will happen in two parts - an online orientation and an in-person orientation on the Galveston Campus.

Online Orientation
Your school will send you information about online orientation, along with other admission information. Please contact your school's Office of Student Affairs for more information.

In-Person Orientation
In-person orientation will take place on July 10th - 12th. The first day of Orientation will begin with an All-School Orientation session and a Peer Roundtable Luncheon. Peer Roundtables are a Q&A Panel with upperclassmen from your school where you can ask any questions you may have about academics, extracurricular activities, or island life! Students will then break out into their individual schools/programs for the remainder of the orientation week.

Summer Orientation Parking Information

Please click on your school below to see which parking lot your school is assigned. It is important that you park in your assigned lot as this helps facilitate the numbers of cars each lot will hold. Shuttles will then take you from your parking lot to your drop off location. You can find your school's shuttle schedule and drop off location below.

 

Parking Info

The School of Medicine parking lot will be at 232 Barracuda Drive, Galveston, TX 77550 - located behind the Primary Care Pavilion (PCP) at N. Holiday Dr./4th Street and Barracuda Drive. The entrances to this lot are located on the north side of Barracuda Drive. 

Your drop off and pick up location for all three days will be the circle drive by the Rose Garden at Market Street and 10th Street. In addition to the schedule below, there will be one shuttle running between all parking lots and drop off points throughout the day for all three days. This will be for anyone who may have left something in their vehicle, have an emergency and need to leave early, etc.

Wednesday, July 10 
Begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 11 
Begin at 7:15 a.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.

*The shuttles will be running until 8:00 p.m. because Student Life will be hosting a movie night starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be Chick-fil-a provided for dinner.

Friday, July 12 
Begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.

The School of Nursing parking lot will be at 706 Holiday Dr., Galveston, TX 77550 - located by Walgreens on Seawall. The entrance to this lot is located at Holiday Drive/4th Street and Winnie Street. 

Your drop off and pick up location for Wednesday will be the circle drive by the Rose Garden at Market Street and 10th Street. Your drop off and pick up location for Thursday will be near the covered trolley/bus stop on 11th Street.

In addition to the schedule below, there will be one shuttle running between all parking lots and drop off points throughout the day on both days. This will be for anyone who may have left something in their vehicle, have an emergency and need to leave early, etc.

Wednesday, July 10 
Begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. (Rose Garden location)

Thursday, July 11 
Begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. (11th Street bus stop location)

*Shuttles will continue to run to the Rose Garden pick up location until 8:00 p.m. this night because Student Life will be hosting a movie night starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be Chick-fil-a provided for dinner.
