New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Texas Medical Branch! Every part of our campus community — the faculty, the staff, and your fellow students — is looking forward to welcoming you to campus.

Before starting at UTMB, all students are required to complete an Online Orientation. You will receive an email from the Office of Student Life approximately one month prior to your start date with a link to the orientation and directions on how to get started. 

Some programs that are starting in the fall semester are also required to attend an In-Person Orientation on the Galveston Campus the week of August 26-30, 2024. Schedules for the programs required to attend the August Orientation sessions are still being created and will be located below when available.

Students who have not purchased on campus parking at the time of these orientation sessions can park in the UTMB Free Shuttle Lot at 706 Holiday Drive. We will have DESIGNATED buses running for Orientation Students ONLY. Please use buses marked EZ Cruise or Port Parking. These buses are running from the parking lot directly to the orientation drop off point. The UTMB Shuttle* (with UTMB logo) will make a circular route around campus and take longer to get you to your destination.

No shuttles, no programs are scheduled for orientation sessions on this date. 

*Please note that this Free Parking Lot is available throughout the year and the UTMB Shuttle runs the circular route throughout the year.
