Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is dedicated to improving the students' academic, social, and cultural environments. The Student Senate consists of representatives from all four schools. This body controls all funds and determines the policies of SGA. It is important that responsible individuals are elected to this body as they represent the students and are instrumental in making decisions that will affect the student body.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your Student Government Association Senators or The Office of Student Life

HOW TO BE A SENATOR

Budget Meetings

The Budget committee consists of the SGA Treasurer, the Chairperson of the Senate, a representative from each school, an at-large position, and the non-voting SGA President. Representatives from each school are selected by nomination process in the spring and approved by the Senate. The Budget Committee works to distribute SGA funds to Student Organizations for travel and TGIT's, in addition to the individual schools for Special Resource Funding. Click here to learn more about how to apply for funding and for specific meeting dates.

If you are interested in being a member of the Budget Committee, please email student.life@utmb.edu for more information.
