She has over 100 publications in social science, statistics, and epidemiology. Her research has focused on minority health, measurement of cultural beliefs, and chronic disease. Her research on cultural beliefs was supported by The National Science Foundation, in particular the development and application of the Cultural Consensus Model to identify shared cultural beliefs. She has also done work on diabetes screening and management.
