The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch offers a 1-, 2- or 4- week observership rotations for dental students interested in pursuing a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Activities include observation in the day-to-day activities of our program - rounds, clinics, inpatient care, and observing in the operating rooms and in the trauma and emergency suites.
Observers will have an opportunity to experience the day-to-day activities of our program, including:
- Hospital Rounds
- Outpatient Clinics
- Inpatient Care
- Operating Room Procedures
- Trauma & Emergency Cases

We accept a limited number of observers each month, and available dates fill quickly.
Application Requirements
You must submit the following:
- Letter of Recommendation (from full-time faculty or OMFS Chair)
- Official Dental School Transcript
- Current CV or Résumé
