Oct 17, 2022, 11:48 AM by Melanie Connolly

In September, UTMB was visited by Medical Illustrator Samantha Bond, who discussed the utilization of Virtual Reality (VR) in medical education, research, and clinical practice. Her discussion touched thoroughly on the accessibility of VR, use cases for specific interventions & learning goals within extended reality, and how those interventions are iterated, maintained, and studied for efficacy.

Samantha Bond, MS, CMI, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Ms. Bond teaches courses in the Biomedical Visualization graduate and undergraduate programs, covering topics in medical illustration, game development, and learning theory.
