2007 GLP Education Seminar Announcement
While industry has been operating under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
guidelines for decades, the majority of academicians have not been required to
adopt these practices to support their research programs.
However, with the increasing National emphasis on product development
(particularly vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics) academic institutions are
likely to find it necessary to implement these standards.
The Sealy Center for
Vaccine Development has helped UTMB establish the
Office of GLP Compliance
to aid
investigators in achieving these standards in their laboratories.
An initial training workshop to discuss GLP in an academic setting
was
held September 13, 2004. Subsequent training seminars
were held in August of 2005 and we anticipate facilitation annual training
programs as the need dictates. These sessions are held on the UTMB's
campus and are free for participants, so please check back often for
announcements regarding future opportunities.
