Beth Auslander, PhD

My research interests focus on gender and new methods of STD prevention including vaccine acceptance and topical microbicid acceptance. My recent manuscript on gender's influence on health belief attitudes toward vaccine acceptance was recently accepted for publication. Over the past year, I have been working under the direction of Susan L. Rosenthal, Ph.D. on an NIH funded project examining developmental and socio-contextual factors related to adolescent girls' perceptions and use of topical microbicides. In the next few months, I plan to design a study investigating the relationship between bod image and the acceptance of topical microbicides.
