• Mechanisms of immunity to Rickettsia, Ehrlichia, and Orientia.
• Vaccine development for rickettsioses and ehrlichioses.
• Pathogenesis of rickettsial and ehrlichial infections.
• Development of vaccines and diagnostic assays for biodefense and emerging infectious diseases.
