Dr. Ibrahim joined UTMB in 2017 as a Clinical Educator and Assistant Program Director. In 2019 he was appointed Program Director for the accredited Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology. In Addition to the fellowship, he is an active leader in the fellowship education activities especially the multi-disciplinary simulation for obstetric patients. This activity is of vital importance to address Texas's high morbidity and mortality in obstetric patients.

Dr. Ibrahim currently serves on the American Society Anesthesia (ASA) Patient Safety and education committee, in addition to the ASA Educational Track Subcommittee on Obstetric Anesthesia. Moreover, he is serving the education committee and the subcommittees on patient safety and simulation education for Society of Obstetric Anesthesiology and Perinatology (SOAP). He is also active in the Society of Education in Anesthesia (SEA) and just attended the SEA Teaching workshop where he learned new method of teaching, evaluation and assessment of his residents and fellows. Additionally, he is also serving as a member of SEA- Resident education committee, and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists (TSA), as member of TSA Patient Safety and Medical quality, and finally a member of the Texas Medical Association leadership college where he is focusing on how to improve his leadership skills so he is able to teach them to his fellows and senior residents while preparing them to their independent practice.

Dr. Ibrahim was inducted into the Academy of Master Teachers in 2022.
