How to Apply?

The UTMB AMT has a 3-phase application and selection process.

Phase I: Readiness

Includes self-reflection, review of information, and attending a mandatory Application Workshop in May of the cycle year. Workshop attendance and participation is a pre-requirement to help potential applicants make an informed decision about requirements.

2026 cycle: Workshop is May 5th from 11:30-1 pm virtually.

Phase II: "Intent to Apply"

Following the mandatory Application workshop, submit an "intent to apply" to determine if you can proceed to Phase III.

Phase III: Full Application

If approved to proceed from Phase II, submit your Full Application.

Selection Criteria

The application (not yet posted) is reviewed by a selection committee of AMT members who evaluates DOCUMENTED evidence of:

Sound educational philosophy
Adequate preparation as an educator (past and current development)
Educational contributions that demonstrate:
- Quantity, breadth and variety
- Quality indicators (outcomes and impact)
- Use of innovative and evidence-based educational practices
- Educational reputation and reach to institution and beyond
- Active involvement in education at UTMB
