Dr. Claudia Hilton is an Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Department and Rehabilitation Sciences. Through her career, she has had extensive experience as an occupational therapist, as a faculty member and as a researcher. She previously served on the occupational therapy faculties of Washington University and Saint Louis University. She also served on the Roster of Accreditation Evaluators for the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association and as a Certification Renewal Program Test Item Developer for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Her research examines interventions that support activity participation by individuals with autism spectrum disorders.
Dr. Hilton was recognized for her contributions to the occupational therapy profession when she was invited to join the Roster of Fellows of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She also received the Saint Louis University YWCA Leadership Award and the Award of Merit from the Missouri Occupational Therapy Association. She is a member of Alpha Eta, the national allied health honor society, and of Pi Theta Epsilon, the national occupational therapy honor society.
