Julie Trumble, MLISMoody Medical Library

Julie M. Trumble is  Associate Director of Library Services at the Moody Medical Library. She received her Master of Library and Information Science and her BA from the University of Texas at Austin. Her interests include evidence-based medicine and information literacy. Her involvement in medical education began at UTMB in 1996 when she was introduced to problem-based learning and worked as a small group facilitator in the School of Medicine's Interactive Learning Track curriculum (1996-1998). She completed the UTMB's Medical Education Scholars program in 1999. Mrs. Trumble feels fortunate to be in a profession she loves and at an institution that allows her so many opportunities to emphasize education and teaching.

In addition to regularly scheduled classes in the Library, Mrs. Trumble teaches classes tailored for specific courses including the JSSOM META course, ICCS and Transition to Residency. She frequently participates in the Teaching Skills series.

Mrs. Trumble is an ex officio member of the JSSOM Curriculum Committee and services on the Educational Research Committee. She has served on the editorial board for the journal Medical Education Online and on the Grants Scholarship Committee for the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association.

Mrs. Trumble was inducted into the Academy of Master Teachers in 2009. She is a member of the AMT Advocacy Team and served as team leader from 2010-2013.
