Virginia Niebuhr, PhDClinical Professor, John Sealy School of Medicine
Pediatrics

Committed to faculty development, Dr. Niebuhr’s mission is to help others be the best teachers they can be. Her major focuses are technology for education – helping faculty learn the combined pedagogy and technical aspects of using educational technologies, and curriculum development. She is also a licensed pediatric psychologist in clinical practice at UTMB, with a mission to help parents be the best parents they can be.

Dr. Niebuhr is on the faculty for the UTMB Office of Educational Development’s Scholars in Education (SiE) faculty development program. For the Academic Pediatric Association (APA), she is faculty for the Educational Scholars Program (ESP) and is past-chair of the Faculty Development Special Interest Group.

Dr. Niebuhr was inducted into the UTMB Academy of Master Teachers in 2007 and became a UT System Distinguished Teaching Professor. She was indicted into the Univ. of Texas Kenneth I. Shine Academy of Health Science Education in 2013. In 2014, she received the Univ. of Texas Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award (ROTA).
