The Biological Chemistry Student Organization (BCSO) is an educational and social group for the graduate students in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) and Molecular Biophysics Educational Track (MBET) programs. Meetings are typically the first Thursday of each month at noon in BSB 2.240.
The BCSO is a very active organization. It has educational events such
as the Pioneering Biological Discovery Seminar Series where the students
choose the speakers and have the opportunity to meet with individuals
who are leaders in their fields.
BCSO members also volunteer for a number of charitable events such as
the Osler Society Halloween Carnival, the Holiday Toy Drive and the
University of Texas United to Serve Day. But it's not all work and no
play!
The BCSO has monthly social activities that include trips to the movies
and Main Event for bowling and laser tag, a Halloween party and an
annual summer BBQ.
